There are many individuals suffering from what is called other dual diagnosis. These are those who have developmental disability along with a co-occurring mental illness. ACIDD Africa understands that these individuals have the higher chance of developing behavioral health issues which is why we provide services that address their respective needs.
Most facilities often lack the skills and equipment to render the proper services to these patients. At the same time, there aren’t that many qualified clinicians who are trained and skilled in Developmental Disability to facilitate diagnosis and treatment to the patients.
Over time, those with other dual diagnosis can feel the negative impact of their existing conditions to how they live their daily lives as well as their personal relationships with others. This presents a challenge for professionals to continue delivering the required programs in order to fully address the concerns that these patients and their families have.
Help ACIDD Africa reach out to individuals with other dual diagnosis. Sponsor, be a volunteer or donate today. To know more about our programs that benefit others, please call 1-844-ACIDD-US.
